Bob Nelson founded Nelson Property Services with one pickup truck, a small crew, and a commitment to hard work—plowing through Maine winters and renovating homes alongside his brother. Those early projects, combined with Bob’s years balancing local jobs with commercial work in Massachusetts, shaped a growing Portland-based business rooted in craftsmanship and reliability.

As Bob’s sons grew up, they joined the operation, learning the trade from the ground up. By 2012, the company was expanding into excavation and construction, and Bob’s son Joe stepped into a leadership role, helping drive growth and guide the next chapter. Bob’s son Bobby also plays a key role today, overseeing the company’s homebuilding and remodeling projects.

By 2019, the team moved into a larger Portland headquarters and invested in a full fleet of equipment to take on bigger, more complex projects. In 2025, the company rebranded as Nelson Company to reflect who we are today: a family-run construction firm built on experience, integrity, and quality work that speaks for itself.
